UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Now アラキ工務店(ARAKI : the construction company) is repairing the beam which is eaten by termites terribly.
Ex-beam is 6 meters long; 300mm diameter; japanese pine wood; placed between the big roof house and double layered house. The surface of it is planed by hand hatchet and plane in log form, looks really nice (but not inside). It carries the big weight of the big roof and the floor upstairs.
So now they try to take away the old beam and replace the new one with Douglas fir; rectangle form; 270mm height.(divided into two pieces and joined together with the bolts).
During the work, the roof and the structures are jacked up.

We found out a lot of termites(white, without wings) are still inside the ex-beam and the structures connected with it.
